Marianne Roth, CCRA, CCRP

Clinical Operations Manager

Marianne comes from a background in chemistry along with a post-graduate certification as a Certified Clinical Research Associate (CCRA) from McMaster University in Hamilton. Ontario. She maintains membership as a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) through the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA).

Previously worked with a site management organization in the capacity of regulatory coordinator and study coordinator. With over 16 years of experience, participating in 60+ clinical research trials, she manages all studies, regulatory compliance, staff training, SOP revisions, budget/contract/financial management.

She maintains certification in ICH-GCP Training, Health Canada Division-5 Training, IATA Training and responsible for site SOP creation and review. She is continually updating clinical research education with attendance at annual conferences.

Malcolm Gibson, MD

Investigator

Dr. Gibson obtained his B.Sc, post-grad Masters in Pharmacology, and Doctor of Medicine from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. His medical residency was completed at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, where he also obtained his Fellowship in Palliative Care. He is certified in Family Medicine through the College of Family Physicians of Canada.

Dr. Gibson maintains active memberships of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, The College of Family Physicians of Canada, The Canadian Medical Association, and The Ontario Medical Association. He brings to Dawson Clinical Research 15 years of experience as a family physician and 7 years of experience as a Clinical Research Investigator. Dr. Gibson is a very active investigator with great passion and interest in clinical research.

He remains current with the latest knowledge and advancements in Family Medicine and maintains certification in ICH-GCP Training, Health Canada Division-5 Training, Site SOP Training, and Tri-Council Policy Statement.

Garry Wallace, MD

Investigator

A BSc in Human Science graduate of the University of Guelph, Dr. Wallace completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa and Family Medicine Residency at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Wallace was the recipient of more than a half-dozen awards and scholarships for exceptionally high academic achievement.

Dr. Wallace’s experience includes Clinical Skills Instructor at Queens University, Clinic Physician at Wellington Dufferin Sexual Health Clinic, Clinic Physician at University of Guelph Student Health Services, Physician for Immigration Public Health Unit, and Independent Medical Examination Reviewer at Focus Assessments in Kitchener ON. Dr. Wallace currently has a Private Practice at Dawson Road Family Medical Clinic in Guelph, a part-time Examiner for the Canadian College of Family Physicians. He maintains his certification in Family Medicine.

He brings 25 years of experience as a Medical Doctor and seven years experience as a Clinical Research Investigator to Dawson Clinical Research, where he also serves as Chief Medical Director and maintains certification in ICH-GCP Training, Health Canada Division-5 Training, Site SOP Training, and Tri-Council Policy Statement.

Thomas Tobin, MD

Investigator

A graduate of University of Western in London Ontario, where Dr. Tobin completed his undergrad BSc in Biology. He is a doctor of Medicine and a residency in Family Medicine. Past positions include President of the Medical Staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chief of Family Practice at St. Joseph’s and Guelph General Hospitals, and President and Lead Physician at Guelph Family Health Team.

Dr. Tobin is presently a Medical Consultant at Manulife and Family Physician at Dawson Road Family Medical Clinic. He brings to Dawson Clinical Research Inc. 30 years of experience in Family Medicine and 7 years of experience as a Clinical Research Investigator.

He maintains certification in ICH-GCP Training, Health Canada Division-5 Training, Site SOP Training, and Tri-Council Policy Statement.

Douglas Friars, MD

Investigator

A graduate of Queens University Faculty of Medicine in 1984, Dr. Friars attained his CCFP in 1986 and his FCFP designation in 2006. He has been working in private office-based practice. Dr. Friars continues to work as a consultant and team physician for the University of Guelph since 1989. Attaining a Sports Medicine diploma from the Canadian Academy of Sports Medicine allowed him to expand his expertise, working with Musculoskeletal injuries in Occupational Health and the Medical-Legal sphere.

After training with AOCEM in 2002, Dr. Friars formally expanded his practice and created an Occupational Health business. After working as a Medical Review Officer, he completed a two-year term (2010-2012) as President of “The Canadian Society of Medical Evaluators”, a national organization focused on excellence in Independent Medical Exams.

Dr. Friars continues to work as a Primary Care Physician and is currently working as a Medical Director for Apex, Occupational Health Physician for J & J Canada, Physician for the University of Guelph Football Team.

Erin Turvey, MD

Investigator

Completing her Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph, Dr. Turvey obtained her Master of Science in Exercise Physiology, Doctor of Medicine, Residency in Family Medicine, and Fellowship in Sports Medicine from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

She currently practices Family Medicine/Sports Medicine at Dawson Road Family Medical Clinic. She is a Clinical Research Investigator with Dawson Clinical Research Inc. She has also worked as a Surgical Assistant at Guelph General Hospital, where she maintains privileges. She brings to Dawson Clinical Research Inc. 17 years of experience as a Medical Doctor and five years as a Clinical Investigator. She maintains certification in ICH-GCP Training, Health Canada Division-5 Training, Site SOP Training, and Tri-Council Policy Statement.
